Weekly Vendor Spotlight: Coastie Craft Burgers
With the onset of COVID-19, the farmer’s markets are slightly different this year. To maintain the flow of traffic and avoid crowding we have asked that people “Shop, don’t stop” during the market. This may have created a lack of connection between you and our incredible vendors. We will be posting a weekly spotlight of our vendors to give you the opportunity to stop and connect with your local makers, bakers, and growers!
This week’s vendor spotlight is Coastie Craft Burgers
Tell us about your business?
Coastie Craft Burgers is a whole food veggie burger company. We take amazing ingredients and flavours from our community – and transform them into delicious, satisfying, plant-based burgers. With mostly all organic ingredients, minimal packaging and processing, Coastie is changing the burger game and creating versatile products that nourish and sustain. We sell our burger mix frozen, just thaw your jar, then scoop, shape, and sear. Jars are returnable for a $1 refund. By returning your jar, you can help us in our goal to be a zero-waste business.
What inspired you to start your business?
The availability of nourishing food, the protection of the environment and the elimination of waste are all defining issues of our generation. We believe that businesses should work to tackle these issues, not resist them. From this belief we developed our incredibly versatile, convenient, vegan burgers. We’re obsessed with quality organic ingredients and low impact packaging. Plus our burgers are bursting with flavour so that eating healthy impactful food is not only easy, but also crave-worthy.
What is your favourite thing about the Port Moody Market and Port Moody?
As a Vancouver business, we don’t make it out to Port Moody nearly enough. That being said, we both grew up in Vancouver and visited Port Moody often. From hangouts and picnics at Rocky Point Park, to the Brewery District, to the incredible access to nature, we have nothing but good vibes. Port Moody is an amazing gem of a community!
What is something you are grateful for this year?
