In Market News, Virtual POP Club

This week we’re learning all about squash! Did you know that there are two different categories of squash? There are Summer and Winter Squash! Winter squash, which comes from a vining plant, have thick inedible skin with edible insides. Some examples of winter squash are pumpkins, butternut squash, and spaghetti squash. Summer squash, on the other hand, grow on a bush plant and the skin and insides are both tasty! Some examples of summer squash are zucchini and straight neck squash.

The POP Club activities this week include: taking a look at some more fun facts about squash, try out a butternut squash mac & cheese recipe, listen to our read aloud squash story, cut and paste a squash life cycle chart, and learn how to save your squash seeds!
